Enerflo + Callpilot: Compliant, On-Demand Sales Verification Calls

Solar companies lose deals — and sometimes a lot more than that — to misunderstandings that surface long after the sale. A customer forgets what was covered, a sales rep's promise doesn't match the contract, or a lender's welcome call misses something an installer needed on record. That gap between what was sold and what a customer actually understood is exactly the problem Callpilot was built to close.

Callpilot's on-demand video verification platform integrates directly with Enerflo, giving installers and sales orgs a compliant, branded welcome call they can run in-house — no third-party call center, no hold times, no separate app. We sat down with Max Brenchley from Callpilot's team to talk through how the integration works, why more installers are adopting digital welcome calls, and what's changed as AI has entered the verification process.

What is Callpilot, and what problem is it solving?

Callpilot is a video verification platform built to confirm customer understanding post-sale. Our focus is not what was sold to the customer, but what the customer actually understood at the end of the day. When there's a gap between what they understood and what they're receiving, that's where problems stack up for companies — lender chargebacks, customer disputes, BBB issues, attorney general complaints. Callpilot was built to solve that problem and make sure customers have a crystal-clear idea of what they're getting, so companies can avoid the problems that follow those misunderstandings.

Why has adoption of digital welcome calls accelerated so much over the last year?

A lot of it has to do with changes in the industry in general. For a lot of companies, protecting the deals they've worked hard to install is top of mind, and there are more regulations coming out — even at the state level — requiring recorded verification with the customer. It's a mix of company-driven priorities and outside pressure. And with Enerflo, a lot of these companies were doing manual verification, whether that meant hiring two or three staff with inconsistent processes. Enerflo's integration automates that process for sales teams and operations teams, and people are catching on to the efficiency.

What developments is Callpilot most proud of, and why do they matter to a solar company evaluating this today?

It's been a fun last couple of years seeing what installers and lenders want out of a verification call. Our companies have pushed us and given us feedback, and we've made meaningful improvements — the biggest being that we don't just give you a recording anymore, we give you insights into that recording. We can transcribe the call and flag anything the customer said that would indicate a deal might be in jeopardy down the road, along with other AI insights, so companies can catch issues up front rather than six months into a project. We're not just giving you a video welcome call — we're trying to be proactive in catching things up front.

How does Callpilot compare to a third-party call center or a company's own AI tools?

There are other options out there, but where people really lean in is combining AI with video recording — that's a super powerful, undeniable piece of evidence for the company. We've seen instances where a voice recording only goes so far, because a customer will just say, 'that's not me, I don't know who that is, that's my son-in-law, whoever it is.' A video recording of the customer engaged with the questions is much harder to dispute down the road. That, combined with the AI capabilities, is really what separates Callpilot — along with being able to run these calls 24/7, in any language, when a lot of traditional call centers are limited to certain hours and struggle to staff bilingual people.

Most lenders already require a welcome call. Why should an installer run their own verification call in parallel?

That's one of the most frequent questions we get from install partners. The lender's call is meant to protect them from a truth-in-lending standpoint — they're required to ask certain things. As an installer, you have separate questions that protect you specifically: what warranties are you offering, what does the installation process look like, did your sales rep make any promises about timelines, did he promise a free trip to Disneyland or whatever it is. At the end of the day, the lender doesn't really care — that gets put back on you as the installer. Having a clear record for your own processes means you can say, 'we dotted our i's and crossed our t's.' It also helps with having happy customers — it's a great introduction to the company, and it sets the tone in a positive way right from the get-go.

How does having a Callpilot verification record change the risk profile for an installer or sales org?

Immensely. We've done hundreds of thousands of verifications for installers across the country, and we've had testimonials come back to us that show why. One company in Texas had a solar 'ambulance chaser' attorney going after customers who'd just been sold solar, asking if certain things were covered, and building legal suits against the installer — five separate instances, all headed toward $100,000 settlements each, $500,000 total. But the things the attorney was going after them for had already been covered in their welcome call. The company sent over the recordings and said, 'we want to show you we did go over these things with the customer, they were aware of them,' and never heard back from that group again. As an installer, you're dealing with customers, lenders, and attorney generals — having that verified piece of evidence that you did your job can save hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What's the benefit of having Callpilot integrated directly into the Enerflo platform, rather than running it as a separate tool?

Everyone wants something in a centralized system. It's annoying to run three different applications and train your team on three different use cases. Integrating with Enerflo simplifies it for the whole team. Sales reps get the convenience of running it anytime, anywhere, with no hold times — they can complete it immediately after the sale, which reduces friction in the sales process. On the operations side, the video file is automatically sent back to that customer's profile, so your team isn't digging through hundreds of separate call recordings — they just go to the customer's profile and can see exactly what was asked and confirmed. Having it all in one platform makes the whole process easier, more automated, and more efficient.

How does an Enerflo customer get started with Callpilot?

It's super simple. You bring us your script if you have one — we don't make the questions or tell you what to ask, though we have insights into what's worked for other companies if you want them. You tell us how you want your flow to work, and our team builds the call for you, so you don't have to train your team on how to build it out. We work with Enerflo to turn on the integration, which happens within a matter of hours, then you run a couple of tests to make sure everything's smooth. We've gotten Enerflo customers up and running in as little as two days: we build the script, activate it on Enerflo, and you're live. For any company, we just say — give it a try, let us know what you think, and if it's not a fit, that's alright. But it's not a heavy lift for most teams.

What's one thing about Callpilot you wish more solar companies understood?

I'd say the ease of use of the product. When you're implementing new solutions, the question is always, 'is this going to create friction for our team?' What we've actually seen is that it promotes a better culture inside a company — sales reps like it better than calling in and waiting with the customer for five minutes, which feels like an eternity inside someone's home. It's easy to implement, easy to try, and it just provides a better experience for the whole team.

Is there a trial offer for Enerflo customers who aren't using Callpilot yet?

Yes — like I said, we want people to try it. Enerflo customers can try Callpilot risk-free for 30 days. We'll help build out your call, run it on your deals, and then evaluate together how it looks moving forward.
